Several media outlets are reporting on the difficulties of accessing addiction treatment resources; examples of barriers to access are multiplying, and community organizations are doing their utmost to engage policymakers and senior officials. Yet, as stated in this excerpt from *La Presse* dated August 10, 2026:
"The person who summons the courage to act today isn't going to ask for help tomorrow. If they ask for help now, we should be able to provide it," says Frédérick Fortier, Executive Director of the Association québécoise des centres d’intervention en dépendance (AQCID).
