Together to reduce homelessness

More generally, insecure housing is the result of several issues related to economic development that diverge from social development. Among these challenges, poverty, relative to the cost of living, addictions and mental health are generally factors leading to a risk of chronic or episodic homelessness.
Like you, I meet people affected by addictions and homelessness every day in my neighbourhood. I decided to financially support Vilavi who helps people to get by.

“Homelessness is the result of systemic and societal barriers, a lack of affordable and adequate housing, and/or individual or family financial, mental, cognitive, behavioral, or physical challenges. It is a situation that is not a choice (unless the avoided situation is considered much more serious). It is a generally negative, stressful, and distressing experience.” (Canadian Homelessness Research Network)
