Perpetuating a vision of quality in social development
Deputy general director and collaborator of Vilavi for over 20 years, Salina Ferrari died of cancer on January 11, 2025. Her absence leaves an abysmal void where her radiant energy shone tirelessly.
In all of her roles at Vilavi, Salina has ensured a commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals, which has become a point of pride for the organization’s teams. She believes in the idea of a job well done, which goes beyond simply completing tasks, it means doing nothing unless we are certain it will make a meaningful impact. Our actions should aim to exceed expectations.
How can we ensure that the vision of quality carried by Salina can be transposed into the daily life of Vilavi
For example, when it comes to shelter or housing, the welcome must be warm, the rooms comfortable, the colors soothing, the spaces clean yet personal, the desk tidy, and even the filing cabinets in the right color. And let’s not forget the welcome kit: fresh fruit, and coffee for each new visitor to our facility.
And if the color isn’t quite right, we start over!

The Salina forum
A facility that promotes community engagement
On April 22, 2025, the Vilavi Board of Directors requested that donations received in tribute to Salina be allocated to the transformation of a room in Terrebonne, evoking her passion and unwavering commitment to the success of Vilavi and the support of users.
The project aims to transform the dining room of the Vilavi addiction treatment center in Terrebonne into a community space conducive to community engagement among users. The Vilavi program aims to help people gain autonomy and therefore regain control over their lives, based on a project of their own: social or professional integration, abstinence or controlled consumption, housing project, etc. By being both the author and actor of the change that concerns them, the person learns or re-learns that lead to the emergence of skills that promote their personal well-being and rewarding relationships with others, as well as their self-esteem, personal discipline, and autonomy.
The Salina forum becomes a place of learning (support in preparing meals, acquiring knowledge on the nutritional dimension) but also a place for sharing and exchanging in a process of social transition (music, crafts, games, meetings, debates, etc.).
The project consists in restoring the room with a view to energy efficiency, but also to beautify it by emphasizing the objective of multiple uses. The redeveloped space will be the subject of an inauguration that will integrate the idea of perpetuating a vision of quality in social development carried for many years by Salina Ferrari.
A quality approach for a long-lasting impact
202507 - The transformation of the Terrebonne dining room into a redesigned and modernized living space begins. On April 22, 2025, Vilavi's board of directors requested that a space representative of Salina's vision of quality be created at the Terrebonne treatment center.
Supporting vulnerable people
“ People in distress, exhausted by hardship, abandoned by public policies, criticized by their loved ones, stigmatized by society, all these people harbor treasures of talent, generosity, and ingenuity.
They deserve much more than they themselves think they deserve.”
Spaces should be warm and inviting
202502 - Exhibition of works created by tenants as part of the “Building a Community” project, a multidisciplinary artistic creation project (visual arts, writing, music and dance).
Comforting colors,
clean but not impersonal spaces
202505 - Redevelopment of the terrace of the Terrebonne treatment center
into a space for relaxation and contact with nature.
